Mecklenburg County Council Camp Policies
1. Cub Scouts (Tiger, Wolf, & Bear) - Are permitted to camp with their families or a parent
2. Webelos - May camp as a den with a Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader however, parents are still encouraged to participate. There must still be two deep leadership in order to camp. If there is not, the ranger will ask the group to leave.
3. Alcoholic Beverages Alcoholic beverages of all kinds are prohibited. Violators of this policy will be asked to leave camp property.
4. Firearms Firearms, airguns, and archery (bows and arrows) are prohibited in camp except when used in a properly supervised program on the BB Range or Archery Range, as outlined under the program heading.
5. Illegal Drugs Possession or usage of illegal drugs (i.e. other than labeled prescription or non-prescription drugs) is prohibited. Law enforcement officers will be called.
6. Motor Vehicles In the interest of safety and in the interest of limiting wear and tear on the roads, all vehicles must be properly licensed and insured. All drivers must have a valid drivers license and be 18 years of age or older (21 when transporting Scouts). As this is a camp, it is expected that people walk (not drive). This will help keep a more camp-like atmosphere. Special arrangements can be made for handicapped individuals and for transporting heavy equipment. In inclement weather, and at the discretion of the Camp Ranger, all service roads may be closed.
7. Pets Bringing pets to camp is prohibited. Exceptions will be made for leader dogs for the seeing impaired and hearing impaired.
8. Sheath knives These knives are not needed for Scout camping and are therefore prohibited.
9. Swimming Units must provide an adult currently certified in the Safe Swim Defense Plan, Cards must be present. All conditions in Safe Swim Defense must be met. All certifications for CPR and Lifesaving must be presented to the Ranger/Campmaster. A certified BSA Lifeguard is required and must be at least 21 years of age.

Boating Same as above except for the Safety Afloat Plan certification.
Cubs Scouts and Webelos are not permitted to use canoes, only rowboats.
(Exceptions Cub Scouts and Webelos may use canoes during Council or District
activities and only on flat water.) A certified BSA Lifeguard is required and
must be at least 21 years of age.

Clear Creek Scout Camp
1. Live up to the Cub Scout Promise and the Boy Scout Oath and Law at all times.
2. Two LEADERS must report to the Ranger/Campmaster upon arrival. A campsite and cleanup duties will be assigned at that time.
3. Two LEADERS of the group must report to the Ranger/Campmaster before departing camp. Ranger/Campmaster MUST inspect all facilities and equipment used by the unit before the unit leaves camp.
4. The unit will not be allowed to use any facilities that were not reserved on the camp use permit.
5. Respect the property of others and do not trespass.
6. Scouts and Leaders must wear shoes at all times while at camp. No open toed shoes allowed.
7. Do not hack, scar, or cut live trees or shrubs, or disfigure buildings and other camp property.
8. Do NOT leave fires unattended at any time. All fires must have fire buckets filled with water close to the fire ring. No flames or heaters in tents. Fires are NOT to be left unattended! Fires may only be built in the fire pits provided. Do NOT move the fire pits.
9. Pack out all garbage. A dumpster is provided on the camp property but if the dumpster is full, you are expected to take the garbage with you.
10. No Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, or fireworks are allowed on camp property.
11. NO PERSONS are allowed to RIDE in the back of an open bed vehicle (trucks).
12. No parking in campsites, around shelters, in front of the gate to the maintenance/emergency roads or along sides of camp roads. PARK only in designated lots or areas designated by the Ranger/Campmaster. All vehicles in violation may be towed at the owners expense. This is to protect the grounds of the camp and for emergency purposes.
13. Only foot traffic is permitted beyond gates that are up. DO NOT MOVE railroad ties or power poles.
14. The Ranger/Campmaster will not interfere with any program under unit Leadership except in the cases of violation of Camp or Council Policies. Ranger/Campmaster will report violations and/or non-scout conduct to the unit leader for correction.
15. The Ranger/Campmaster has the right to expel any group for any serious violations, including refusing to follow accepted rules of behavior.
16. THE SPEED LIMIT ON ALL CAMP ROADS IS 10 M.P.H. Anyone in violation of the speed limit will be asked to park their vehicle while at camp.
17. NO WASHING of pots and pans in the latrine or bathhouse. This damages the sinks. There are yard hydrants placed near the campsites for any water that is needed.
18. Main camp gate will be closed at 11:00 PM. It will be reopened at 7:00 AM. If leaving or entering camp when gate is closed, please close gate. This is for the safety of the campers.
19. All campers will be in their campsite by 11:00 PM. NO LOUD noises after this time.
20. All non-camping visitors are asked to leave camp property by 11:00 PM
