 | We are planning to work-on the OUTDOORMAN
Webelos Activity Badge on Saturday March 20, 2004. The time will be from 11:00
am to 7:00 pm and will take place at Pleasant Hill Church near the fire pit. |
 | This event is only for Webelo's and we require
that a parent accompany their child that day. Please see the attached sheet,
we will be working on requirements - 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7. |
 | The boys will work on their knots and learn
how to pitch a tarp tent. Also, they will learn about outdoor fire safety, how
to start a fire, and cook their lunch and dinner over the campfire. There will
also be other fun and informative activities throughout the day. |
 | You will receive a
sheet on knots-
please work with your child on the following knots:
(blue listing indicate a link to an
animated display)
|
 | The rope that they have been given has one end
whipped with red tape and the other with black tape. Always have them put the
red end in their right hand. Red for Right. It will help make learning the
knots easier. |
 | Keep this rope at home. They do not need to
bring it to Scouts, we will have an extra set of ropes for them. We will work
on the knots at Scouts on Tuesday nights, but the more practice they get the
better. |

 | Dinner - we will be making hobos. You will
need to bring the meat and vegetables. For the meat bring either 1/4 lb of
